In the area of hand surgery, you can rely on many years of experience in microsurgical technology and tissue-sparing procedures for the treatment of different clinical pictures. Here you can benefit from our experience in osteoarthritis treatment, the removal of overbones and the surgery of nerve constriction syndromes, carpal tunnel syndrome and ulnar trough syndrome. We offer fracture treatments of the carpus, the metacarpal and the fingers as well as therapeutic and surgical interventions of the painful inflammation of the tendon attachments on the elbow bone, the so-called tennis elbow or golfer elbow.
We are one of the few hospitals in Germany to offer knee replacement and shoulder degeneration for chronic pain. This procedure is a transection of the nerve tracts in the painful areas, which can also be used in osteoarthritis.
MD Karl Schuhmann is chief physician of the Clinic for Plastic / Aesthetic Surgery and Hand Surgery at the Protestant Hospital Hattingen and also leads a private practice for Plastic / Aesthetic Surgery in the Laser Medicine Center Rhine Ruhr in Essen and a consulting practice in Dusseldorf.
After studying medicine in Aachen, dr. Schuhmann his residency in Aachen, Berlin and Gelsenkirchen, before he gained his specialist recognition for Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery in 2001. He then works as a senior physician in the clinic in Gelsenkirchen-Buer.
From 2002 to 2004, he served as senior senior physician and chief physician representative at the Protestant Hospital Lütgendortmund in Dortmund.
In January 2005, Dr. Schuhmann the chief physician position at the Protestant Hospital Hattingen.
