About MD E. Brandes
20 specialised departments with approximately 1,000 beds, including the interdisciplinary intensive therapy ward as well as the intensive care ward for neonatology, are available to provide optimum medical care. Approximately 36,000 in-patients and 80,000 out-patients from a large catchment area are treated here annually.
A warm welcome to our homepage. The Clinic for Urology provides patient-oriented medical services with a special focus on organ saving and tissue and nerve-sparing tumour surgery, plastic genital surgery, paediatric urology as well as modern endoscopic procedures such as holmium laser enucleation (HoLEP) of the prostate and the kidneys and ureteral stone treatment.
The Clinic for Urology is a part of the tumour centre as well as the centre for paediatric medicine. It has a urological out-patient unit and a total of 24 beds. Should it become necessary to monitor patients in intensive care due to their medical condition, we have beds available in the intensive care ward i.e. the Intermediate Care Unit. For our younger patients and their parents we have beds available in the Clinic for Paediatric and Adolescent Medicine on our premises.
In addition to an operating room specially equipped for kidney and ureter stone treatments in the urological out-patient unit, the Clinic for Urology also has two state-of- the-art operating rooms available in the central surgery ward. Medical care for patients is guaranteed by the medical director of the Clinic, his two senior physicians, three specialists and two trainee physicians. At the same time you are conscientiously looked after by our trained nurses and care-workers in the wards as well as in the surgical departments. Outside regular working hours an on-duty physician is present as well as an additional on-call senior physician.
