The Hospital of the Holy Spirit in Cologne was established in 1964, and now is one of the biggest multidisciplinary hospitals in Germany that has a great reputation outside its borders. The hospital helps people from all over the world both on stationary (12.000 clients annually) and outpatient (28.000 clients annually) basis providing more than 300 beds. The hospital specializes on general and visceral surgery, urology and oncology, neurology, emergency help, radiology, cardiology, etc. It’s equipped with state-of-art devices including Da Vinci robot for minimally invasive operations. The team includes doctors speaking foreign languages, which eases communication and understanding.

Treatment of traumas and wounds is one of our main directions. We provide both emergency help and post-injury care paying particular attention to elderly patients. We use modern methods which allows stabilizing fractures and breaks of arms, legs and body. Treatment includes not only conservative (non-surgical) methods, but different kinds of surgeries on new injuries. We also deal with malunions, damage of joints and bones caused by wearing and accidents.

We strive to ensure fully-fledged treatment and care that includes physical therapy after operations. This therapy can be continued when the patient leaves our hospital in adjacent ProPhysio clinic.

Our services include:

• Surgical and conservative treatment of fractures in legs and arms, including wrists, pelvis and spine with focus on minimally invasive methods (with less scars), use of exterior bone fixation and endoosseous systems.
• Surgery on hands aimed to treat vessels, nerves and sinews including microsurgical operations (surgery under a microscope or binocular loupe).
• Endoprosthetics of hip joint and shoulder with bone cement and cement-free implants (artificial hip or shoulder joint).
• Operations to correct upper and lower limbs in case of inborn or acquired deformations.
• Arthroscopy of knee, shoulder, elbow or wrist, ankle, for instance, plastic surgery to replace the damaged crucial ligament, stabilization of shoulder (in case of dislocation), surgery on meniscus, surgery on cartilaginous tissue.
• Shockwave therapy (non-surgical procedure) for pain in the shoulder joint, knees and feet and diseases connected with bone destruction.
• Emergency surgery.
