The hand is an extremely complex organ and may lose its functionality due to illness or accident. In this regard, a particularly gentle approach to surgery, often with a microsurgical instrument, is required under a surgical microscope.
Our goal is to fully restore the anatomy and function of the hand, which requires the use of the most modern methods and technologies (for example, arthroscopy). Since a good functional restoration of the hand not only requires special surgical techniques, but also requires intensive follow-up treatment, there is a highly motivated and specially trained team of physiotherapists, occupational therapists and massage therapists who know the importance of the arm.
To this is added the diagnosis and treatment of acquired, degenerative, and rheumatic diseases of the hand and arm. The most commonly treated diseases are neuropathic syndromes (carpal tunnel syndrome), snappers, Dupuytren's disease (flexing the fingers due to changes in the connective tissue of the palm), and benign tumors (ganglia, commonly known as the upper arms). In addition, articular symptoms (osteoarthritis) that occur as a result of accidents or associated with age. The forms of treatment range from gentle operations on the joints of the hand to their artificial replacement.
Another central component of our patient care is the follow-up care needed after surgery on the arm. It includes regular outpatient monitoring to monitor the course of therapy, where we attach great importance to close cooperation with family doctors and allied colleagues.
Capio Krankenhaus Land Hadeln has a large physiotherapy department in which all reasonable procedures after treatment are applied (including occupational therapy, lymphatic drainage and massage).
Most of our procedures for hand surgery are easily planned, usually performed on an outpatient basis and, thus, individually, taking into account the needs of the patient. For this purpose, two outpatient operating rooms and a private day clinic were set up at Capio Land Hadeln.
