About MD K. Schmidt-Schoorman
Since 2006, the vascular surgery is an independent main surgical department in our house. The focus of our work includes stroke prevention through surgery or stents (stent support), the treatment of the enlargement of the body artery (aneurysm), the "Schaufenstiester" and diabetic foot as well as the treatment of varicose veins and venous thrombosis or correction of dialysis access, the use of cardiac pacemakers and defibrillators.
In our interdisciplinary vascular center, we offer patients optimal diagnostics and more sophisticated therapy - including modern, gentle (minimally invasive) catheter methods. There, we work closely with radiologists, angiologists, neurologists, nephrologists and diabetologists to prevent the often life-threatening consequences of vascular disease (stroke, amputation or vascular rupture in aneurysms). The vascular center is certified by the German Society of Angiology, the German Society of Vascular Surgery and the German Roentgen Society. There, specialists in vascular diagnostics and conservative, interventional and operative vascular therapy are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The diagnosis of vascular diseases is carried out in close cooperation with the radiology department of the house, which offers all imaging procedures. Which includes:
The Vascular Surgery Clinic itself offers:
The prerequisite for the best possible treatment of patients is a thorough diagnosis. It provides information about the causes and consequences of a clinical picture. The clinic offers a wide range of specialized and qualified treatment offers based on the latest medical knowledge. An important focus is the endovascular supply of aortic aneurysms (outgrowth of the main artery). Special vascular prostheses (stents) are inserted into the vessels so that the dilated main artery can not burst. The treatment of vascular constrictions and vascular occlusions with balloon catheters and stents is also part of the treatment spectrum.
A dedicated team of caregivers and physicians care for our patients on ward and strive to minimize the burden of hospitalization. Our biggest concern is that you feel in good hands with us. We cordially invite you to inform yourself on the internet about our clinic. Many questions can only be clarified in conversation. We are at your disposal for this, just contact us.
