About MD Kaan Harmankaya
I was born in Vienna, studied at the Vienna Medical University, where I defended my doctoral dissertation in 2005. As a student, I worked on various projects at the University Clinic of Dermatology, and also defended a dissertation on atopic dermatitis under the guidance of an extraordinary university professor Dr. Michael Binder. Then in 2006 I began training as a specialist at the University Clinic of Dermatology at the Medical University of Vienna (AKH), where until 2013 I worked as a physician with a specialization.
Since December 2013, I have been working as a doctor / department head at the Department of Dermatology at the Vostok Social and Medical Center (SMC-Ost) - Donaushpital.
My research and activities focus on treating patients with melanoma, as well as other types of skin cancer. I have played an important role in numerous international clinical trials. As part of my academic work, I gave many lectures at national and international conferences and congresses.
In addition, I received extensive training in all areas of dermatology. I am particularly interested in aesthetic dermatology. Here I have developed and deepened my experience through numerous seminars and continuing education courses.
In addition to my native German, I am glad that I can speak English and Turkish fluently with you.
Dermatology covers a wide range of often the most diverse skin diseases. My task as your specialist is to correctly diagnose them and find the right treatment for you.
As your dermatologist, I strive for an adapted concept for the treatment of skin diseases such as acne, neurodermatitis, psoriasis, herpes, nail fungus, warts or eczema or redness of the skin (rosacea).
Many dermatological diseases are very stressful from an aesthetic point of view. Acne, in particular, usually occurs at a young age, which is very stigmatizing to the patient and should be treated effectively. After the appearance of acne scars, they can be improved with very effective treatments.
I can also offer a very effective and quick treatment for molluscum contagiosum (Mollusca contagiosa) in children. Usually one procedure is enough for a complete cure.
