Surgeon makes smile victims burn again

Constance Neuhann-Lorenz has founded an organization that helps victims of arson attacks. She was honored in Vienna.

The Munich surgeon Constance Neuhann-Lorenz is a true angel in white - in 2008, she founded the aid organization "Women for Women" to treat women in India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Kenya after arson attacks free of charge.

"In India every hour a woman is lit by her family or her husband. One can not figure out how much suffering that means for the women. Together with my daughter, I try to help, because there is nothing more fulfilling than helping such women. Plastic surgery is also associated with the soul, because a scar on the body is also a scar of the soul, "said the dedicated doctor.

And that's exactly why she was honored with the "Tara" for her life's work at the "life goes on" gala in Vienna's city hall.

But other extraordinary personalities were also considered this evening:

• Category Fashion: Merch Mashiah - Israeli fashion designer who celebrates success despite the threat of blindness.
• Category hope: Philipp Ritzinger fell ill at a young age of bone cancer. Nevertheless, he is successful on the Green in the national squad of the Tyrolean Golf Association.

The gala with heart was set up by the former speed skater Emese Dörfler-Antal and the ex-ski freestyler Christian Rijavec.
