Christian Neuhäuser has been taking on the duties of Chief Physician of the Department of Orthopedics (Endoprosthetics) and Traumatology at SRH Klinikum Karlsbad-Langensteinbach. The department is part of the internationally renowned center for spine surgery, orthopedics and traumatology. Neuhäuser is regarded as an expert in the field of limb and joint surgery with a focus on endoprosthetics and the arthroscopic treatment of large joints.

Christian Neuhäuser has two decades of surgical experience. He is a specialist in orthopedics and trauma surgery, specializing in surgery with the additional designation Special Trauma Surgery and has been approved as a passing doctor (D-physician) for outpatient and inpatient treatment of work and school accidents. "In my work, I am always aware that I operate human beings, not case numbers," says Christian Neuhäuser. "That's why the individual solution for a patient always counts for my team and me," continues Neuhäuser. For this purpose, the new chief physician focuses on specialization.

His motto is: As little as possible, as much as necessary, says Neuhäuser. When using artificial joints at the hip joint, the minimally invasive implantation of short stem endoprostheses is often his first choice. The same applies to the knee. The aim is always to supply the necessary parts of the knee joint with artificial surfaces and, if possible, to maintain the important ligamentous apparatus, especially the cruciate ligaments. If the joint replacement is not even necessary, he resorts to conservative therapies or arthroscopic surgical procedures, Neuhäuser explains. For signs of wear (arthrosis) on the shoulder joint Neuhauser uses bone and tissue preserving implants via minimally invasive approaches.

"With Christian Neuhäuser, we are gaining a specialist that ideally complements our range of orthopedic treatments," says Jörg Schwarzer, Managing Director at SRH Klinikum Karlsbad-Langensteinbach. In the future, in addition to outpatient consultations, it would also be possible to offer specialist consultation hours. With the hip joint mirroring, for example in the case of painful entrapment syndrome or painful hip endoprostheses as well as the operative treatment of deformities, arthroses and injuries of the foot, Neuhäuser will be able to offer important additional focal points, says Jörg Schwarzer.
