The University Medical Center provides medical services at the highest level of care. As a maximum-care hospital, it covers the entire spectrum of modern medicine.

In addition, the University Hospital of Dresden is the center for kidney and bone marrow transplants, as well as the center of highly specialized care for cancer patients. The University Hospital Dresden, founded in 1748, provides medical care at the highest level of modern medicine. As a maximum-care hospital, it covers the entire spectrum of medical services. The University Hospital combines clinics and polyclinics, interdisciplinary centers and institutes, which work closely with clinical and theoretical institutes of the Medical Faculty. The spatial and technical equipment of the University Hospital is constantly brought up to date. A new operating center went into operation in 2002. The Children’s and Women’s Center was completed of 2003. We strive at perfection when it comes to health. In the immediate vicinity of these buildings, the modern Neurological Centre (DINZ) was opened in 2012, in which the departments of internal medicine, urology and neurology and radiology areas fruitfullz collaborate under one roof.

With 1,295 beds and 141 day care spaces, it is the largest hospital in the city and also the only tertiary care hospital in eastern Saxony.
