Our Proctology department, headed by MD C. Podlinski, deals with disorders of the rectum, pelvic floor, anal canal and the region of the anus. In addition to the surgical treatment, we offer the conservative (i.e. non-surgical) treatment of various medical conditions. Our department promotes the holistic and interdisciplinary approach, involving specialists from such fields of medicine as dermatology, gastroenterology (in case of fistulas), gynecology (pelvic floor weakness in women), and urology (urinary incontinence).
The proctology at the Community Hospital of Bonn has a long tradition with correspondingly large expertise and a supra-regional reputation. The success of treatment of haemorrhoids depends on a stage-appropriate treatment:
In the early stage (grade 1), the procedure is almost always conservative. For second-degree hemorrhoids are treated with the sclerotherapy, the rubber band ligation and alternatively, the operative enucleation of the piles in the foreground.
In third-degree hemorrhoids, we favor surgical measures. Various surgical procedures are available, such as the enucleation of the piles (with or without mucosal suture) or circular, large hemorrhoids treatment with a laser device. Irreducible, forth degree hemorrhoids can only be removed by enucleation.
