About St. Anna Hospital
Hospital in the course of time

Out of their health and social commitment, men and women of the Catholic parish of St. Lawrence in Wanne began over 100 years ago to provide for the sick and needy of their local part. They were supported by the Order of the Paderborn Vinzentinerinnen. The St. Anna Hospital Herne opened on 27 September 1901 with 40 beds its doors. Today it has 380 beds and has become a modern hospital of high diagnostic, therapeutic and nursing standard.
With a diverse range of medical services, the St. Anna Hospital Herne near Dusseldorf ensures the health care of numerous patients regionally and nationally. For example, the St. Elisabeth Group Center for Orthopedics and Traumatology is one of the largest centers of its kind in Germany.

In addition, the focus is on the treatment of diseases of the heart, the respiratory tract and the kidney. In the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology the natural birth is of great importance, so that every year many parents come to us, who want to bring their child to our world. In addition, patients in this specialized medical department can draw on the great medical experience in the treatment of benign and malignant gynecological diseases.
