About Prof. MD U. Kehler

Our department offers you competent help with all surgically treated diseases of the nervous system and the spine. These include facial pain (trigeminal neuralgia), the so-called water head (hydrocephalus), nerve injuries and nerve bottleneck syndrome, brain injuries, tumors and bleeding.

Our interdisciplinary neurocenter brings together a wealth of experience from the departments of neurology, neurosurgery and neuroradiology. Emergency patients with a stroke, cerebral haemorrhage, epileptic seizure and acute paraplegia benefit from this organizational structure in particular. In the neuro-oncological center, we offer patients with brain and spinal cord tumors interdisciplinary treatment at the most modern level.

We are there for you with full commitment and our many years of experience in this field.

The chief physician of neurosurgery, Prof. MD Uwe Kehler talks about operations on the spine, when and for which diseases they are necessary, what alternatives there are and why a second opinion is so important.

If the spinal canal is narrowed, e.g. due to wear and tear, back pain can occur, especially when walking and standing for long periods of time. Prof. MD Uwe Kehler, chief physician of our neurosurgery, describes various forms of spinal canal stenosis as well as their diagnosis and treatment.
