About Prof. MD C. Hopf

Therapy focuses on the frequency of spine diseases wear-related disc herniations, spinal canal narrowing and consequences of spinal instabilities. The treatments of all other diseases such as spinal deformities (scoliosis), tumors, spinal fractures and inflammations are also routinely done.

Micro-infants and children are as much a patient as older people. After a detailed examination, the existing disease is presented and possible conservative or operative therapy concepts are discussed. An individual treatment concept is proposed that takes into account important factors such as biological age, existing side-effects, living conditions and functional demands.

State-of-the-art techniques and equipment support the examination to ensure optimal diagnosis and treatment for each patient. In addition to all conservative therapy procedures, minimally invasive operations, like all conventional surgical procedures, are our standard procedures.

Our treatment team includes the attending physicians as well as experienced nurses, physiotherapists, orthopedic technicians and pain therapists. The spatial relationship with all other specialist departments of the house allows for special questions to involve specialists from the other fields.

All specialists from our department are members of the German Spine Society (DWG), the chief physician has the excellence certificate of the DWG, all senior physicians have the DWG Master certificate. In 2018, the certification of our department as "DWG level I spinal column" is expected to be completed, making it the supraregional spine surgery center of the highest possible qualification.
