About MD W. Schaub
Our clinic provides the entire range of modern conservative and operative treatments for diseases and injuries of the postural and musculoskeletal system.
Joint preserving and joint replacing surgery is focus of the orthopaedic surgery. Primary or revision surgery for arthroplasty of hip, knee, ankle, shoulder or hand joints are carried out according to the individual needs of patients. Up to date arthroplasty based on the latest scientific findings are just as important to us as tissue-preserving (minimally invasive) surgical techniques in order to provide fast and smooth-running rehabilitation to our patients.
The department of arthroplasty has been certified as a centre of excellence by the German orthopaedic board. For continuous quality assurance, the clinic is a member of the German registry for endoprosthetics (EPRD).
Tumour orthopaedics, elective shoulder surgery, elective hand and foot surgery and orthopaedic rheumatology are further specialties of our clinic. Furthermore our clinic is specialised on secondary reconstructive surgery after trauma and for deformities. Paediatric orthopaedics is provided by the department for paediatric and neuro-orthopaedics at the clinic. Spinal disorders are treated by our department of spinal surgery.
Trauma and sports injuries enclose the entire clinical range of modern treatments for any injuries of the musculoskeletal system.
The specific areas of expertise at the trauma department are pelvic and spinal surgery, trauma arthroplasty, trauma hand and shoulder surgery as well as sports trauma medicine including consultation hours and supervision of athletes.
The central interdisciplinary emergency room (ZNA) with a shock room and polytrauma management (specialised treatment of multiple injuries in the “maximum care clinic”), including CT, MRI and angiography, comprises the entire clinical range of medical care provided by a modern trauma centre with interdisciplinary treatments, a helicopter pad and an emergency response vehicle as well as implementation of an “injury-type procedure” according to the German employers’ liability insurance associations (VAV; § 6).
The affiliated Department for Paediatric and Neuro-Orthopaedics at our clinic is concerned with the congenital and acquired diseases and changes in the musculoskeletal system of children and adolescents. Particular emphasis is placed on children with neuromuscular diseases. In addition however, adults are also treated for deformities resulting from childhood and adolescence.
As is generally known sporting accidents do not correspond to the consultation hours of doctors’ practices. We offer fast, round the clock medical assistance outside our regular opening times, for 365 days in the year. The field of Trauma and Sports Injuries at the Clinic for Orthopaedics and Trauma at Klinikum Frankfurt Höchst comprises the entire clinical range of modern treatments for any injuries of the musculoskeletal system. We treat acute and chronic sports injuries, joint injuries of the knee, ankle and shoulder, cruciate ligaments, meniscus and cartilage damage as well as muscle-capsule-ligament injuries.
Interventions are conducted on a minimally invasive and arthroscopic basis. Furthermore, we provide comprehensive medical supervision in clubs and at sporting events.
