With this refractive eye surgery method there is no need to cut the corneal flap, which accelerates the healing. Since using the procedure ReLEx® smile cornea remains almost untouched, the procedure is ideal for people who cannot wear lenses and suffer from dry eyes. ICL® – implantation of lenses?

The lens replacement is the most efficient refractive eye surgery. The principle here is the same as that of the contact lenses, with the only one difference: the implanted lenses cannot be easily removed. Preliminary examinations are similar to surveys conducted before the planned laser vision correction. Ophthalmic surgeon introduces an additional foldable lens in the eyeball through the two-millimeter incision at the edge of the cornea, placing the lenses behind the iris.

Characteristics of ICL implantation: ICL are the first biocompatible lenses that are made of the biocompatible material. They are so thin and flexible that can be introduced into the human eye through the cornea micro-tunnel. ICL works just like a normal contact lens. The only difference is that, being located inside the eye, it produces a vision correction once and for all, is invisible and does not cause any sensations. If necessary the lenses can be removed from an eye without disrupting its structure and anatomy. The vision is restored almost immediately after surgery.
