The problem of headaches is the main object of our research in the field of neurology, which is especially significant for us. We began working on this problem since the medical practice was established in 1986 by its former co-owner and the expert in the subject of headaches Dr. Volker Pfaffenrat; the work continues now by his follower, a national and international level specialist in headaches, Dr. Holger Kaube.
In this case, the patient is in the spotlight for all of us, our medical team, including Dr. Kaube, Dr. Reiter and Dr. Simen, as well as for all employees of the practice.
The diagnostic and therapeutic procedures we use meet the most modern scientific standards and experts' recommendations. Moreover, we take into consideration the latest developments and studies in neurobiology.
Being a center that specializes in headaches, we often receive patients who have been suffering from chronic and complex migraine and cluster headache for a long time. We are convinced that it is possible for these patients to significantly improve their medical situation and the quality of life that used to be limited. According to the prevailing opinion in modern neurobiology, the most cases of chronic pain syndromes are genetically conditioned and therefore incurable. Instead of "restoration" of the affected organs, a holistic medical approach should be used, which includes both the recommendations from the doctor and the independent and responsible actions of the patient.

For patients with acute cluster headaches and other so-called trigemino-autonomous pain syndromes, we offer a special service with emergency reception hours and reduced waiting times. Due to the large number of patients already registered in our center it is unfortunately impossible to avoid long waiting time during the initial registration. Since we very closely cooperate with the MVZ Pain Therapy Center on Hessshtrasse, we recommend patients suffering from headaches to apply there for an appointment of the first consultation as well. One can expect a much shorter waiting time there.
We also work closely with the Center of Pain Medicine of the Schwabing Clinic, Dr. Decker, under the direction of Thomas Helmer and Dr. Holger Kaube. The center also conducts surgical interventions in headache cases that are not susceptible to therapy.
